Students Published in Annual CITE Book

Congratulations to Emma Hudson whose short story won an Honorable Mention from judges Lee Gowan and Andrew Pyper at the Conference of Independent Teachers of English (CITE) and to Baden Russell-Pettigrow and Anna Breun whose short fiction was published in InCite along with Emma’s. Congratulations to Sophia Woge whose artwork was selected to illustrate the cover of the publication. InCite is an anthology of student writing and visual arts that is published annually by CITE.

The Conference of Independent Teachers of English was held at Ridley College on the weekend.  On Friday evening four of Canada’s most influential writer’s read passages from their acclaimed books. Giller Prize Winner Linden MacIntyre read from “The Bishop’s Man”, Katrina Onstad read from “How Happy to Be”, Russell Smith read from “Girl Crazy” and Richard B. Wright read from “Mr. Shakespeare’s Bastard”:

During this two-day educational conference, Ridley hosted 80 English teachers, 18 workshop leaders and 8 outstanding authors in a celebration of reading, writing and teaching.
