Ridley College Cadet Ball 2012

The annual Cadet Ball was held this Saturday. The Cadet Ball is Ridley College’s version of prom for students in Grade 11 and 12. Traditionally the boys wear their red uniform from cadets and the girls wear formal dresses. The event took place at Club Italia in Niagara Falls and judging by the pictures everyone had a great time!

Springtime at Ridley College

I love Spring at Ridley. The Magnolia tree begins to bloom in front of Gooderham House, the students are spending a lot more time outside and the sun is shining! Today is a beautiful day on campus- enjoy the pics:

Ridley College House Reach Finals- Merritt South Comes out on Top!

Ridley College House Reach Competition

As a part of the boarding system at Ridley College there are house competitions.  Boys Houses compete for the Bermuda Cup and Girls Houses compete for the Bradley Shield. Competitions can include anything from house reach to athletic competitions to camp events.  Points are awarded for each competition and at the end of the year the house with the most points receives the coveted prize and bragging rights.  This morning in assembly the finals were held for the house reach competition.  Merritt South faced off against Arthur Bishop West.  There is a strong rivalry between these two houses, in the last ten years Arthur Bishop West has won approximately 8 times and aside from last year when they faced Gooderham West they seem to come up against Merritt South.  This year it was a close match down to the end and Merritt South came out on top – Congrats boys!

Happy Easter Ridleians!

Students in JK to Grade 3 came to the Upper School library today to celebrate Easter. The students participated in an Easter egg hunt in the Reading Garden, read books to each other and made Easter crafts.

There will be no school tomorrow (Good Friday) or Easter Monday. Have a good long weekend everyone!

Lower School Heritage Fair

Students in Grade 4, 6, and 8 presented their projects today on topics related to Canadian History and Heritage. Judges listened to each student present their project.  The top presentations chosen will advance to the Niagara Regional Heritage Fair being hosted by the District School Board of Niagara on Monday April 30th, 2012 in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
