The U14 Rugby team, behind two tries from Joseph Adebanjo, defeated Holy Trinity in Richmond Hill by an impressive score of 29-5. Newcomer Michael Tarbutt made several key tackles in the backfield for the Tigers. In Tennis, the U14 mixed tennis team won 5 of 5 matches against Holy Trinity, with the talented girls’ team of Siena Vendittelli and Liana Biktimirova, and the talented boys’ team of John Drake and Mark Jensen leading the way. “I was very impressed with our focus today,” said Ridley coach N.A. Ronald. “HTS is a well-coached team, and they are very scrappy. They were putting a lot of balls in the court and I thought we responded well. We stayed focused and executed.” The U14 Girls Softball team won convincingly, 9-0, at home against Appleby College. ShanShan Li led our side with excellent pitching, and ShanShan and Kailene Jackson contributed two runs each. The U14 Girls Soccer team lost a close game, 2-0, at Holy Trinity. The girls were pressuring their opponent when the game was called due to dangerous weather. However, the girls played hard and better things lie ahead for this team. The U12 Boys Softball team won 10-6 against Sterling Hall on Tuesday. Anthony Nguyen led our team in pitching and the guys played with plenty of energy, good humour, and developing skill.
